Community Worker – Summer Student

The summer student will provide support to staff helping with the foodbank and summer camps. The student will provide support to clients accessing the foodbank. The student will facilitate with the planning and running specialized summer camps during the summer. The student will provide professional, friendly and knowledgeable service to all who access the food bank. The student will also provide assistance with administrative tasks when required.
Duties will include:
- Facilitating and planning for summer/family camps
- Working with children between the ages of 4 to 12
- Assisting the food bank program
- Completion of all records for summer camps and foodbank
- Ensuring confidentiality of clients
- Adhere to Health and Safety Protocols
- Greeting individuals who enter the building
- Provide phone reception services
- Supporting staff with administrative tasks
Qualifications:
- Experience in some leadership roles
- Some experience working with children
- Ability to move and lift up to 50 pounds
- Experience handling confidential information
- Respectful and kind demeanor
- Passionate about social work and/or helping marginalized clientele
- Must be enrolled in a University or College program or just completed final year
- Eligible for Canada Summer Jobs
