International Women’ Day is a day to celebrate the accomplishments of women while empowering them to strive for greater equality in society. This year, International Women’s Day was celebrated on March 8.
On March 9, the Hispanic women of the Manicure & Pedicure class took the initiative and put together an International Women’s Day Celebration at The Lighthouse. The event showcased the skills of the women in a wide range of topics, from nutrition to inner beauty. Each woman presented on a topic as a way to share their thoughts and insights with the group. They also highlighted the history and developments of women’s rights, as well as the importance of women’s leadership both in the home and in society.
This events demonstrates the strengths of empowered women when they put their skills and capabilities into action. With over 30 participants including many who are newcomers to The Lighthouse, the celebration was a great success.
