We are thankful to all the churches in the greater Toronto area and beyond that partner with us or regularly contribute to the work of The Lighthouse. There are a variety of ways that churches can help The Lighthouse.
The Lighthouse has partnered with various churches in the greater Toronto area for the implementation of several of The Lighthouse’s programs over the years. We are grateful for the support of churches which include The Lighthouse in their missionary budget and/or support us financially through gifts and offerings made on their congregations’ behalf.
Often church members individually support The Lighthouse. Many individuals give through church offerings collected through the church diaconate programs on behalf of The Lighthouse, and churches are able to issue tax receipts and then pass on the funds to The Lighthouse. Many individual church members also give through our annual May telephone campaign.
Churches can place collection boxes in their facilities as a collection point for non-perishable food items. Churches also participate in food drives throughout the year, and particularly prior to Thanksgiving and Christmas and other times of particular need.
There are several ways that your church can contribute and make a difference at The Lighthouse. Our Executive Director, Rob Datema, who is also an ordained pastor, would be pleased to meet with your church’s deacons or church council to discuss ways in which The Lighthouse can work in conjunction with church mission programs or to provide further information on The Lighthouse programs and ways of support. Rob Datema can be reached at 416-535-6262 or [email protected].
