After immigrating to Canada in 2009, Lunar New Year has become less celebrated in my family since we spend less time together. A homesick feeling makes me grateful for this vibrant celebration of Vietnamese culture. Celebrators reunite with family, share food, exchange gifts, and enjoy festivities like street parades and firework displays. The Vietnamese Lunar New Year Celebration this year filled my heart with joy and gladness when participants expressed their gratitude about how The Lighthouse impacted their children, husbands, wives, and families. It is a wonderful community with people who are willing to share, help out others, and be there no matter how busy their days.
