The The Hispanic ministry hosted 5 Christmas celebrations. Throughout The Lighthouse, you could smell the delicious aroma of home cooked foods, see the smiles of clients and volunteers, and hear the laughs of everyone enjoying the Christmas festivities. Feliz Navidad!

On Friday, June 17, the Seniors Group from the Hispanic Ministry had a fiesta to celebrate Father’s Day. Almost 30 people came together and enjoyed each other’s company, watched a drama performed by volunteers, and ate a delicious lunch prepared by the volunteers’ husbands (which they executed wonderfully despite some skepticism from their wives).
The Hispanic family camp integrate “art therapy” into their program, where both parent and child create art by using the array of materials set out before of them. Participants first express his or herself artistically within a united environment of creating art together and further bond with each other through the sharing of their work. more »
This July, The Lighthouse celebrated the graduation of 14 graduates of the manicure and pedicure course. The graduates completed a minimum of 80 hours in hands-on practice, in additional to class time to learn about the theory and art of nail care.
