The Lighthouse Food Bank Needs Your Help!

The Lighthouse Food Bank has experienced an average increase of 40% in the total amount of clients served this year from 2014. Though Daily Bread Food Bank in its latest “Who’s Hungry” report states that there is a general decrease of client visits in our city’s core, this is not the case here at The Lighthouse. At the peak, The Lighthouse Food Bank experienced an 80% increase in the total amount of client served from last year, and with reduced donation during the summer months and an increased client load, the shelves are sparse with few essentials to offer.

We need your help to fill the shelves today! And there are many ways to help. You can drop off non-perishable food items directly at our Food Bank on Bathurst Street. Or you can financially support The Lighthouse via our Ride for Refuge fundraising campaign. To donate, please visit http://bit.ly/1Hi19WL by sponsoring your favourite team or rider, and help us reach our goal of $25,000. Your generosity is greatly appreciated!

“For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.” (Matthew 25:35-36)
