Dena and Samia are part of the Contact with the Government Committee, which is part of the Centre for Public Justice, a ministry of the Christian Reformed Church. Jenny Kwan is an MP, she is a critic for the opposition, and sits in the House of Commons standing committee on Citizenship and immigration. Dena and Samia had a great meeting with Jenny Kwan on issues of private refugee sponsorship and inland refugee claimants’ issues for the Centre for Public Justice.
Samia was also in the advisory committee in the making of A Half Welcome, which is a study from over 30 private sponsors who make suggestions of how the private refugee sponsorship can be improved.
